We, at Fairview Baptist Church, recently switched our website software to Athenagold. When Athenagold was first presented to me, I saw it as a valuable resource our church could use. I asked our Website Ministry Team Chairperson to take a look at it. He agreed with my assessment.

What are the benefits? Athenagold provides us with unlimited control over our website. We have designated individuals who have administration log-in power (they can access and update any area of the website). Others are designated as multiple power users. They have access to certain areas of the website. Still others have access to one particular area of the website (such as a Sunday School class or the Men’s Ministry). This allows us to maintain every aspect of the website from a remote location, if necessary, and we give up nothing in the way of security.

Athenagold also allows us to run multiple calendars for every area of our ministry. These calendars can also be printed from the website and distributed to our church members who do not have computers. We can also provide daily devotionals, and these do not have to be downloaded each day. We can store six months of devotional material on the site and it will call it up on the appropriate date.
With our old website, we were limited to 20 pages of material, but with Athenagold, we have an unlimited number of pages. Each ministry area or even Sunday School class can all have their own page. There is truly something for everyone.

The Athena Group was also kind enough to set up a special photo gallery on our website which allows our church family to keep up with the building progress on our new campus.

In addition:

• We can now accept donations online through the website and even collect fees for other activities.
• We can distribute newsletters, signup forms (including Wednesday night suppers), contact forms, or even an order-a-sermon tape form.
• Each minister or deacon can have their own email account if they so desire.

Athenagold also provides a secure member log-in area which is accessible only by password. This provides member access to our church roll, hospital list and our leadership booklet. Athenagold even makes it possible for each church member to update their own change of address or telephone number online. And to help visitors find our church more easily, we now provide an interactive link to a map giving directions to our church.

As you can tell, we are excited about the new and soon to be implemented features Athenagold Software provides. If you have an opportunity to try this software, I believe you’ll be more than pleased with what it can do for your ministry, as well.

Fairview Baptist Church has been using another website provider for two years but decided to change to the AthenaGold package. The decision to change was made based on the improved features and functionality of the package.

This package provides a lot of the features that the Fairview Website team originally designed into our website plan.

Features in AthenaGold include the ability to add sign up sheets for things like suppers, sermon tapes, activities and the ability to search member information from a secure page. The package also includes the ability to have calendars and web pages for individual Sunday school classes as needed. The system was easy to learn and our website was easy to transfer from our previous site to the new one. The added functionality and flexibility of the AthenaGold package made the move a smart one for our church.
